Camp Director and Coach Landon Loya
Coach Landon Loya is the current Men's Basketball Head Coach at Penn Highland's College in Johnstown, PA. For the last three years, he has built his team and has gained tremendous success! His current team won the runner up trophy in the Western Pennsylvania Collegiate Conference. The NJCAA quest ended at Prince George's Community College near Washington, DC. Last year's noted outcome in the NJCAA playoffs had the Penn Highland's Black Bears in the semi-finals in Region 2 Anne Arundel Community College near Baltimore, Maryland. The Black Bears play their home games at the new Gym located at the Penn Highlands Community College in Johnstown, PA.
Prior to coaching the Black Bears, Coach Loya spent two years as the assistant Women's basketball Coach at Frostburg State University. Prior to that he was the head girls and boys basketball coach at Salisbury-Elk Lick High School. He has coached in numerous summer leagues, basketball camps, and other basketball programs. He is a former member of the CCACC mens collegiate basketball team, where he led the team in steals, and recieved the Academic Scholar Athlete Award. He was a member of the Johnstown Vo-Tech boys basketball team, where he received a Laurel Highlands Conference Awards. Coach Loya currently plays in several basketball leagues and tournaments. Coach Loya has coached at different levels and has an abundance of knowledge on the game. He will help you to succeed!
Shooting Camp Director, Jack Loya
A former standout football and also a basketball player at Clarion University, he has coached both boys and girls on every level of the game, from elementary through college.
Loya was a NBA professional scout for coach Bill Bertka, who later headed the NBA (National Basketball Association) draft. Loya scouted for Division 1 coaches on the East Coast. His high school teams have won district, sectional, and regional titles, and his college teams have won tournament, regional, and conference championships. As recently as 2011, his North Star team was the PIAA Disctrict 5 champions, and they went all the way to the PA Sweet 16!. His teams win because he develops aggressive players!!! He was a successful coach at five colleges and five high schools. Besides coaching in the last five Distict V AA championships, Coach Loya was voted the WestPac Coach of the Year in 2007 and 2010!
Coach Loya continues to excel as a player, too. He recently excelled at the International Shootout in Dallas, TX, The World Games in Utah, and won four gold medals in the 2009 Summer Pennsylvania State Games. He represented Pennsylvania in the 2007 Senior Olympics in St. Louis as a player! Currently Coach Loya has the highest win/loss percentage of any boys basketball coach at North Star High School (74.4%)!
Coach Loya was coach of the year in the Maryland 12 member JUCO conference. He has outstanding records at Cambria County Community College, Frederick College (Maryland), Mount Aloysius College, University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Seton Hill University, Fairmont High School (Barrackville, WV), where he won the district, the region, and was two games away from the state championship of West Virginia. Loya's team lost to the eventual state champion by one point! Coach Loya is good working with big man fundamentals and shooting fundamentals. He demands teamwork from his players, one of the things some parents do not like. He has worked a basketball camp for a Professional Team (Chester Jets) in Great Britain. Coach Loya has coached four 7 ft players and 5 professional players, two of which are still playing, including 7'3 Marko Dujkovic from Belgrade, Serbia and Alex Khan from Slovakia. Dan George, a 6'10 player from Australia, has just retired.
For the last two years, Jack Loya has been assisting his son at Penn Highlands Community College, in Johnstown, PA. The Black Bears did very well in their first three years of NJCAA competition.
Phil Rimmer- Coach Rimmer is the boys basketball coach at Juniata Valley Middle School. He is a 6'9" former member of the Mount Aloysius College men's basketball team, Five Towns College men's basketball team, and CCACC men's basketball team. He also is a former pro player for the Manchester Jets Basketball League in Manchester, England.
Mark Wissinger- Coach Wissinger is the former Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Ferndale High School. He is currently the new Cambria County Commissioner. He is also the former athletic director at Ferndale H.S., and the former Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Johnstown Vo-Tech and Windber High Schools. He is a former member of the Division I Drexel University Men's Basketball Team.
Lana Loya- Coach Loya is the current Head Varsity Girls Basketball and Junior High Girls Basketball Coach at Paw Paw High School in Paw Paw, WV. She is a former member of the Mount Aloysius College Women's Soccer team, and also played basketball for Bishop McCort High School.
Stephanie Straka- Coach Straka is in her third year as a coach for the camp. She is the starting point guard for the Frostburg State University Women's Basketball Team. She is a former member of the IUP Women's Basketball team. Stephanie was an all conference player and 1000 point scorer for Conemaugh Township High School Girl's Basketball team.
Aaron Belier- Coach Belier is the Varsity Boys Basketball Coach at Meyersdale High School, and former coach at Salisbury High School. Coach Belier has assisted Coach Loya for the past two years in the Shooting Camp. Coach Belier was a 1000 point scorer in High School!

Jackie Kimmel- Jackie is a current member of the Frostburg State Women's Basketball team. She is a former member and 1000 point scorer for the Berlin Girls Basketball team.
Greg Burke- Greg is the current Richland High School Varsity Boy's basketball coach. He is the former Windber Boy's basketball coach.
Charlie Puckey- Charlie is the coach with the most wins in the Johnstown Area! He is the former Richland High School Boys basketball coach. His son Scott, a former high school basketball player, often assists him.
